The current building at 89 St Michael’s Road was bought and converted as a Spiritualist Church in 1903 but it is not known for how long it operated here. The Church was affiliated to the Spiritualists’ National Union in 1917 and met in a number of rented premises, including the Quaker Meeting House, Wellington Street for 12 years until in 1962 a verbal contract was made with the Northampton Mormons to buy the premises and the Northampton National Spiritualist Church returned on 27th October 1965, by pure coincidence, returning to the original building which will have been our home for 60 years on 27th October 2025.
A centenary celebration service for 100 years of affiliation to the SNU was held on 28th October 2017. Although newer premises have been sought, without success, the spiritual atmosphere has strengthened over those many years, and many famous mediums have enjoyed working within No.89.
