Spiritual Healing
Spiritual healing is available every Monday afternoon (2.00pm to 3.30pm) and Tuesday evening (7.45pm to 9.30pm). It is open to everyone. You do not have to be a member of the church to attend and you can be sure to receive a very warm welcome. No charge is made but freewill donations are invited.
Healing is always given by Qualified Approved Healers
of The Spiritualist National Union (SNU), and may be assisted by Trainee Healers
who undertake a two-year training program of theoretical and practical
training.
Q. What is Spiritual
Healing?
A. It is defined by the Spiritualists' National Union (S.N.U.) as:
The use of forces and energies from the world of Spirit, channelled through
the healer by the laying on of hands (contact healing), or near the body, or
prayer or thought from a distance (Absent Healing).
Q. What is involved
and what can you expect?
A. The healing is always given in the presence of other healers and
patients. You are not required to remove any clothing except perhaps an
outer coat. The Healer will explain what you may or may not feel.
You will be asked if the healer may place his/her hands on you and, if you are
not comfortable with this, they will proceed with near-to-body healing (about
2-3 inches away) so that you will not be touched. If at any time you wish
them to stop you have only to say. You will be given a drink of water if
you feel the need.
Gentle music is played during the Service to aid confidentiality and to create a peaceful atmosphere in which to just sit if you do not wish to have healing.

Our Healing Team:
On Monday we have four Approved healers and on Tuesday we have
two healing Diploma holders, two Approved Healers and two Trainee Healers.
All the trainees have a minimum training period of 100 weeks practical training,
during that time an education course must be completed with a high pass
mark. During the 100 weeks, all aspects of Spiritual Healing is taught,
and again during this period the trainees must attend four review sessions,
usually away from the Church. On completion of the training program and
education course, the trainee will then be assessed on their ability and
knowledge of Spiritual Healing at an upgrading assessment, and if successful,
they will become a S.N.U. Approved Spiritual Healer. An outline of the
procedure for becoming an Approved Healer can be read by clicking HERE.
National Structure
All the major Spiritual Healing organisations now belong to a national group
called U.K. Healers. Being a
part of this organisation informs our patients that all our Approved Healers
have passed the very high standard training procedure. U.K. Healers have
established a Code of Conduct with which all healers within the member
organisations must adhere. Consequently, we are now being accepted as a
recognised complementary therapy to that of the medical profession and are being
called to work alongside doctors and nurses within hospitals and surgeries.
